A significant quote from the chapter was, "We were so eager to grow up so we could fight in it, and it was all the time." This represents a major theme of the book about how kids are underestimated because of their size. The teachers at battle school trained them to think like adults, so they forgot how to be kids. I think that this shows how hard they work them, in the end they forget where they came from. Nevertheless, if they weren't raised this way their fighting would end up differently. The isolation is a good example of this. Isolation is not a typical thing for children to endure. But, if it weren't for the isolation, Ender would have become attached and would be afraid to command them in the simulation.
