Main Events
Gathering was approaching and Kira finished the repair of the Singer's robe and Matt hasn't returned. Kira is worried but she knows that he has the capability to survive on his own. Occasionally Kira sneaks down to Jo's room. The two have become close and Jo says that she wants to write a song about her. Jamison checks on the robe and Kira asks about her future. Since her work is done what will she do? Jamison says that she will continue to make small repairs on the robe each year but she will also stitch the future using her own dyes. Kira is shocked. She also learns that Jo is training to be the next singer; they often start as small children. She asks if she will ever leave and Jamison says no, Kira asks why. He says "because we have been waiting for someone like you for a very long time."
Feelings Toward the Chapter
I am confused on what Jamison means when he tells Kira that she will "stitch the future". I think that will be a hard task for Kira because she can't tell the future. I wasn't shocked when I learned that Jo was training to be the next singer because there was no other role besides the Singer that required her talent. Gathering Blue leaves me in suspense with what is happening to Kira. I also wonder what will happen to Thomas. Nevertheless Kira still feels trapped because she cannot weave what she wants. Kira doesn't find joy in weaving anymore. I understand for the most part why Jamison says he has been waiting for Kira for a very long time. She has a special gift that no one else has and he doesn't want to loose her.
