Main Events
Kira observed the Singer's robe and noticed that the only patches of blue on the robe were faded almost to white. She has also been learning and memorizing all of the plants and their colors, yet has been cutting her visits with Annabella short to work on the robe. Kira often tells Thomas of her days with Annabella and they eat lunch and dinner together. They have grown to become friends. While Kira works on the robe, Thomas works on the Singer's staff, a wooden staff that he holds during the presentation. It helps him find his place in the song of ruin. Thomas gives Kira a box he made for her. It has pictures of all the plants for dyes carved into it. Kira puts a colored cloth she made out of thread when she was young. Thomas knows how to read and write. He writes down the names of the plants and helps Kira memorize them. One night when the two are having dinner together, Thomas says he was awoken last night by the sound of a crying child. Kira slept soundly. Then, they hear men outside from the window. The community is planning for another hunt. Kira and Thomas look out the window and see Matt grabbing one of the weapons and following the pack of hunters. Kira begs Thomas to help her save Matt.
Feelings Toward the Chapter
The rising climax in this chapter was when Kira and Thomas saw Matt with the hunters. Kira fears for Matt and I do too. She has already lost so much and Matt was all she had left. Kira would be devastated if she lost Matt. I hope that Thomas and Kira save Matt because he was a very likable character, and I personally think that he brought the best out in Kira.
