In Chapter 25 of Red Kayak by Priscilla Cummings, Ben talks to Brady about the Lion King. From this conversation Brady learned a very important lesson, that if someone's actions are mean it doesn't make them a bad person. This is applicable to my life in many ways. People can do mean things to you at school or at home, but their actions don't make them a bad person. If they do it continuously you may think so, but there are always good aspects about them. Sometimes people may just treat you like that because of their home-life (Digger is a good example) or that might be their personality. Still, saying someone's bad doesn't necessary mean that they are a bad person, their actions may make you feel bad though. People are mean to you and me, but I usually don't think they are bad, even criminals that have killed hundreds of people. If you think about it if they didn't commit the crime or action they won't be a bad person to others. This proves that actions have an impact on what people thing of you. In the end, Ben's words teach not only Brady a life lesson, but to the millions of readers too.
